Suno creative sliders: Weirdness, Style Influence and Audio Influence
Published September 19, 2026. Official documentation checked on the same date.
Use Weirdness to explore variation, Style Influence to adjust adherence to the style description, and Audio Influence when working with an audio reference. Suno's slider guide describes 50% Weirdness as its normal reference point and says Audio Influence appears with an audio upload. Source: Creative Sliders.
These controls are documented for Custom mode. Check which ones your selected model and creation mode actually expose; this guide does not assume every v6 workflow shows the same sliders. See the current model guide before copying settings from an older tutorial.
Start with a question, not a preset
Before moving a slider, write one sentence about the problem. “The beat is too busy for a reading playlist” is actionable. “It needs to sound better” does not identify what to change.
| What you hear | First experiment to consider |
|---|---|
| The requested acoustic sound is missing | Simplify Style first, then compare Style Influence. |
| Results follow the brief but feel too predictable | Compare Weirdness while holding the brief steady. |
| An uploaded phrase loses its identity | Keep the reference clip fixed and compare Audio Influence. |
| One word is wrong in an otherwise good take | Use a local edit before running another full generation. |
These are suggested experiments, not guaranteed fixes. Conflicting instructions remain conflicting at any percentage.
Run a small comparison
- Save the current lyrics, Style text, model and visible slider values.
- Pick one slider and a modest change, such as a ten-point increase from your baseline. That increment is a convenient test size, not an official recommendation.
- Generate another set and compare the same passage in each result.
- Write down what improved and what got worse before changing anything else.
For example, use this original Style draft:
Instrumental lo-fi jazz, soft brushed drums, warm upright bass,
short electric piano phrases, relaxed pulse, spacious arrangement.
If the piano is buried, first decide whether your complaint is arrangement density or the overall style. Do not add “prominent piano,” increase Style Influence and change the model in the same experiment: you will lose track of which instruction you were testing.
Keep personalized text under control
My Taste can personalize the Style text produced by Suno's Magic Wand. If you use it, save the expanded text before comparing slider settings. Otherwise the prompt itself may also have changed. Source: My Taste.
Likewise, keep the uploaded audio selection stable while comparing Audio Influence. Switching from a solo melody to a full mix changes the reference as well as the setting.
Common questions
What are the best Suno slider settings?
There is no preset established by this guide. Its examples have not been audio-tested. A useful baseline is the set of values visible in your own session, recorded alongside the model and prompt. Keep a setting only when listening supports it for that song.
Why is Audio Influence missing?
Check whether you are using an uploaded audio reference, and whether your current mode exposes the control. A number written into the Style box does not create a missing interface control.
Can Exclude solve the same problem?
Exclude describes unwanted elements; it is a different instruction from the sliders. Use the Exclude guide when an unwanted instrument or texture is the problem. For an editing issue in one passage, see Replace Section.
Keep the prompt and listening notes together in MusicPrompt Studio, then follow the one-variable workflow for the next version. Apply Suno's sliders manually in Suno.
